London Irish Centre COVID campaignSupporting key charitable organisations in helping London’s Irish elderly community.

The McGrath Group are regular supporters of the London Irish Centre’s work and their events such as the Big Night Out, a key fundraising event for the charity which aims to bring outstanding care, culture and community to the Irish living in London.

This year their annual Big Night Out, sponsored by McGrath for the third time in a row, was the most successful yet for the organisation, raising over £66,000.

All proceeds from the night will go towards the London Irish Centre’s community services which are currently being remodelled to support the elderly and those most vulnerable during COVID-19. The London Irish Centre’s services now include telephone befriending, food delivery and a telephone advice service for those that need it the most during these uncertain times.

Ellen Ryan, CEO of the London Irish Centre said, “We are hugely grateful to The McGrath Group for its generous support for our critical services. As the Covid-19 pandemic creates new risks, needs and challenges, our work is needed more than ever. Our committed team of staff, volunteers and partners support people with a diverse mix of needs and vulnerabilities and we simply could not carry out this work without Irish community backing. That strong Irish community spirit has been embodied by the generosity and kindness of The McGrath Group in recent years, who have helped to make our annual black-tie gala a growing success. Go raibh míle maith agaibh (Thank you very much).”

The McGrath Group also support the Irish Pensioners Forum of East London with donations of food hampers to their past events.
