The McGrath Group has donated a variety of fun classic board games and playing cards to help relieve the boredom of children during lockdown.

Holibrook House provides therapeutic care and education for children and young people aged between 11 and 18 years old, with social, emotional and, or behavioural difficulties (SEBD). Founded in 2001, initially as a fostering agency, Holibrook House has expanded to three childrens’ homes and a school. Their therapeutic community aims to give children in their care the educational opportunities in a specialised setting that provides similar opportunities to their peers in mainstream and alternative education provision.

The home located nearest to the McGrath Group is a large 6 bed roomed family home located on a quiet residential road, based very near to Barking town centre and its local leisure facilities. Therefore, during this time of lockdown, it has been extremely challenging for all the children based at Holibrook House whilst they stay at home and do not have access to such facilities. We asked them what we could do to help and prepared a package of games for all to enjoy including traditional games compendiums, card games and special edition Monopoly sets.

Holibrook House’s Office Manager Foluke Miller said “It is such an important time for the community to rally together and we are truly grateful for the McGrath Group’s kindness at this challenging time. This gesture will go a long way in assisting our young people to keep them safe and positive during lockdown.”
