In May, the McGrath Group renewed its membership of the affiliated organisation network of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM). The company has been a member of the industry’s leading group since 2010.

CIWM affiliate organisations sign-up to the Institution’s Code of Conduct committing them to uphold the industry’s highest professional standards, demonstrate compliance with waste legislation and regulations as well as displaying due diligence and integrity in all their activities.

Members also benefit from access to technical advice from experts in all waste disciplines, latest developments in the industry and exclusive technical and educational content including seminars and other events.

McGrath’s Business Director, Tara Donaghy, commented:

“We’re proud to be affiliated to the leading organisation representing the waste management sector,” she said, “Quite apart from the technical and educational benefits it provides, our membership is a practical demonstration of our commitment to industry best-practice. We believe this gives our customer reassurance that their wastes are managed sustainably and limiting their impact on global climate change.”

Other recent accreditation renewals include: Silver and Bronze certificates for the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme following an audit of our transport management systems in February. McGrath first gained FORS accreditation in 2009. FORS is the UK’s pre-eminent voluntary transport certification scheme which is designed to raise the level of quality within fleet operations and to demonstrate which operators are achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency, and environmental protection. The Scheme encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance. The FORS certification process is designed to provide a progressive accreditation pathway which allows operators to achieve exemplary levels of best practice.

In April our Constructionline Gold certificate was also renewed. McGrath has been accredited against the construction sector’s most widely recognised subcontractor database since 2019. Gold membership verifies that the McGrath Group operates in compliance with PAS91 and that our processes and procedures for health and safety, environment, equal opportunities, quality and CRR among others have been evaluated and comply with the Common Assessment Standard.
