Supporting the Community

The McGrath Group has been based in Hackney for over 40 years and has always been keen to support and encourage local community initiatives. Here are some of the recent projects McGrath has contributed to:

Hamper donation to the Irish Pensioners Forum of East London to support one of their social events.

Hamper donation to the Irish Pensioners Forum of East LondonThe forum is a social and cultural group for older Irish people living in and around the seven East London boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Havering, Waltham Forest and Hackney. They run a regular social event with music, refreshments, dancing, old Irish games, and offer a chance to meet new friends, enjoy some Irish culture and spend time with other older Irish people.

“Loneliness is one of the most common problems amongst older people and we were pleased to donate a hamper as a raffle prize for one of their recent events”, says Tara Donaghy, Business Director at McGrath. “Hopefully it added to the enjoyment of the afternoon.”

Haven House Children’s Hospice

Supporting Haven House Children’s Hospice. In conjunction with their Christmas Jumper Day, McGrath staff organised a fund raiser event in aid of Haven House Children’s Hospice.  A Christmas raffle and sale of cakes resulted in an amount of £450.00 being donated to this worthy cause.  The hospice offers residential and community services for children from North and North East London, West Essex and East Hertfordshire.

“Haven House is a source of great support for families looking after children with life-limiting conditions” says Tara Donaghy, Business Director at McGrath.
