McGrath’s accreditation for the FORS certification scheme has been upgraded to Silver following an audit of its systems by the Freight Transport Association. The assessment acknowledged that as well as demonstrating good operating practice to achieve Bronze accreditation the London-based waste company has now implemented added vehicle safety and efficiencies.
Silver accreditation is awarded to operators who:
- Maintain their Bronze accreditation
- Can demonstrate that they have developed driver licencing verification systems
- Have acknowledged current legislation, i.e. LGVs which are fully compliant with the Euro IV particulate levels for entering the London Low Emission Zone
- Have acknowledged safety enhancing equipment such as blind spot minimisation devices, audible warning systems and Telematics tracking system to allow identification of any potential driving issues and all round CCTV cameras to allow review and investigation of any incidents.
Business Director, Tara Donaghy has been responsible for developing the company’s transport resources:“The upgrade to Silver rewards our commitment to making our fleet as safe as possible. Operating in London with one of the busiest road networks in the world it is essential that we have every system in place to make our vehicles visible to and mindful of other road users.”
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation scheme that aims to improve fleet activity in London and throughout the UK and beyond.
