The McGrath Group are pleased to announce successful completion of their audit for Energy Management Certification, ISO 50001.
This certification provides a framework of requirements for organisations to:
- Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
- Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
- Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
- Measure and analyse the results
- Review how well the policy works

The Audit was carried out at our MRF at Barking and also at our Head Offices at Barking. Amongst other observations it was noted good communications and management commitment was demonstrated throughout the auditor’s visit, equipment was suitably prepared and maintained and that McGrath has adequate controls in place to effectively control their energy consumptions throughout the organisation.
The McGrath Group’s carbon savings calculations were also reviewed as part of the audit, reporting a saving of 1,208,162 kgCO2e from 100% scope 2 emissions in 2017.
Tara Donaghy, McGrath’s Business Director also confirmed “The assessments took a lot of hard work and commitment and we are very pleased to have achieved these high standards in passing this audit. This further demonstrates to our customers that we are industry leading in our systems management and our commitment to environmental management goals in all of our business processes.”
