Dumped or dangerous boats on the waterways can cause tremendous damage to the environment. At McGrath we accept and recycle any type of boat from 3 to 30 tonnes, depending on their construction.
McGrath are currently working with specialist marine contractors to dispose of and recycle boats that have been dumped on the water, receiving these via road or water through their wharf waste facilities near London.
Boats will often arrive via road if there is evidence of any leaking fluid to avoid any further contamination to the water.
Materials recovered from the disposal of the boats generally include timber or plastic and once processed at our materials recycling facility (MRF) in Barking we will send them to the appropriate recycling industry.
The McGrath Group use their weighbridge to calculate the cost by weight and ensure their clients receive appropriate evidence and certification to prove that the boat has been destroyed.
